A&B Sports Intl’ to take young Nigerian footballers to Europe free of charge

Francis Achi, Abuja

At a time where there are so many fake football agents with shady trial tournanments in Nigeria, Abu Meepatan, a noble football agent based in Europe, the  proprietor of A & B Sports International, has promised to give talented young Nigerian footballers opportunity to play in Europe, totorinews reports.

Meepatan and his partners orgainsed a four day Scouting Exercise free of charge  at the MKO Stadium in Abuja, which ended on Saturday, said that Nigeria is blessed with abundance of football talents and it is proper for these talents to be given a platform to showcase their talents and this led to the scouting exercise.

Fortunately, the scouting exercise was succesful with the discoveries of some players and his partners from Hungary and Italy are looking forward to take these players to some clubs in Europe where they can be nurtured and developed into sublime footballers in future.

“The scouting competition has confirmed to us that Nigeria is filled with many football talents. A&B Sports International discovered that what we can give to the community is for us to expose young talented footballers to the world as much as possible,” Meepatan said.

“I decided to call my partners from Malta and Italy who are former coaches to assist in this project and it has been an exciting experience so far,” he added.

Unlike some fake football agents that demand money from footballers for them to participate in the trials or be taken abroad to play for clubs, Meepetan , who owns and runs a football club in Hungary, said that the players discovered will not be asked to pay any money for them to realise their dream of playing in Europe.

“We are not asking them to give us any money, no dime will be collected from these players. All they need to do is to come up with their international passports and participate and if successful, the deal is done.

“We may later sign an agreement if a club shows interest in a particular player. We have contacts in Europe that are waiting for the successful players, it does not cost them anything as far as they are promising,” Meepatan further said.

To demonstrate his sincerity of purpose in the pursuit of football talents in Nigeria, he said that the screening exercise cost the organisation about N20m to organise in Abuja, adding that FCT was chosen due to strong security network in the city, but other cities are in line to host the subsequent editions of the scouting exercise tournament.

“We spent about N200m to host this exercise. The accommodation, transportation, feeding of the players and officials and other logistics to ensure the success of the scouting exercise in Abuja.

“Abuja was chosen because of the strong security in the city. Other states in Nigeria are also secured but we felt that it is better to start with Abuja. Another city will host the next editon.

“We intend to have this scouting exercise at least twice a year in Nigeria,” he concluded.
