Achieving a better Nigeria is possible – UKF Founder

Ifeakachukwu Odilu, Lagos

At a time where many Nigerians have given up hope on the country, Mrs Tope Balogun, founder of United for Kids Foundation (UKF) is very optimistic that achieving a better Nigeria is possible, www.totorinews.com reports.

Mrs Balogun revealed that she set up the foundation specially to take care of children from  a day old to 12years old in an expression of love to give them hope for a better future and country.

“Achieving a better Nigeria is possible if people are influenced and exposed earlier in life at their formative stage to acts of greatness and kindness in relationship with mankind.” Mrs Balogun said.

“If we are trying to fight for a better Nigeria, we have to start from the people who we can still influence. So it’s either we get to them first or Boko Haram gets to them first,” said added.

Similarly, Engr. Olukoya Babatunde ,a member of the board of trustees of the Foundation. and Leader of the Hospital visitation team said that the foundation is committed into helping the vulnerable children in the society and they always have special Saturdays to show care and love to these children.

“Every third Saturday of the month is our hospital visitation. We have about 12 orphanages in Lagos, we visit each every second Saturday of the month and we have developed a scheme where we have libraries in public schools which is opened Monday to Friday.”

Founded in 2004, the foundation is planning to launch a mobile library for kids this January everything working out fine.
