Ajikolo’s 94th minute strike breaks Akwa United unbeaten home run

Akwa United went into the match with a sole target of winning only to be denied by Baakaka Ajikolo’s 94th minute goal, totorinews.com reports.

The promised keepers who started the game with six new signings dominated most of the game with their first chance coming In the 14th minute when Mfon Udoh found Alberico Da Silva who had the goal keeper to beat but his acrobatic effort went over the bar.

Four minutes later it was Mfon Udoh who showed some dribbling skills as he beats innocent Gabriel only to be denied by goalkeeper Itodo Akor.

The first chance for ElKanemi came in the 34th minute as Ali Aliyu took a shot at goal but Ojo Olorunleke was right there to  hold grip of the ball.

Play was paused in the 37th minute when Ndifreke Effiong clashed with Solomon Babatunde but they were able to continue. Akwa United threw more men forward in search of the first goal as Mfon Udoh forced another save from Itodo in the 44th minute via a freekick.

The second half commenced with coach Rafael Everton introducing Ubong Friday for Godspower Igudia who picked up a yellow card in the fourth minute, Emeka Atuloma had to go pair Dennis Nya as Olisema drooped deep.

Akwa United pushed more men forward this time was Effiong in the 48th minute who was free in goal as his shot went over the bar. Seven minutes  later Mfon Udoh finds Ndifreke Effiong  in the box but he heads wide, ElKanemi warriors made their first substitution by introducing Chinedu Ohanachom.

Introduction of Ocheme Edoh and Fernando by Coach Rafael couldn’t help as the looked to be settling for a draw on to be disappointed by Substitute Ba’akaka Ajikolo’s 94th min, who benefited from Ojo Olorunleke’s mistake as he tried to come off his line only to be dispossessed half way line as the young star shoots from 25yards to gift ElKanemi Warriors their first win of the season and end an unbeaten home run for Akwa United
