Star of the Super Eagles at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Babatunde Michael scored his seventh goal of the season for Wydad Casablanca against Hasania Agadir, but was lot enough to avoid defeat for his team.
Michael scored in the 68th minute but Hasania Agadir were too powerful as they subdued Wydad Casablanca 2-1as they lost the game at away to a less fancy team in the Botola Moroccan league.
Wydad Casablanca is already cruising to another league title having secured 52 points from 24 games, while their arch rivals , Raja Casablanca is trailing behind with nine points.
Michael’s form this season for Wydad Casablanca has also helped the club to qualify for the semi – final of the lucrative CAF Champions league where the team will trade tackles with Memolodi Sundown for a place in the final.
There is no denying the fact that Michael is yearning for an invitation to Gernot Rohr’s Super Eagles with his sublime performances in the Moroccan league and CAF Champions league and it is hoped that Rohr will be kind enough to extend invitation to the attacking midfielder ahead of the AFCON tournament in Egypt this summer.
