Bako Kontagora Development Foundation to de-worm 5000 School kids in Kano

No fewer than 5000 school children will benefit from the Bako Kontagora Development Foundation de-worming and feeding programme in Kano State, the organizers said yesterday.

 

The five day programme will flag off on Monday 14th January in Bebeji Local Government Area with the followings, Kumbotso, Ungogo, Bagwai and Shanono council areas taking their turns.

 

 The Chief Operating Officer of the foundation, Hauwa Bako Mohammed said the humanitarian intervention will hold from the 14th – 19th January 2019,  while in the State, the team will pay a courtesy call on the governor and also visit the Mariri IDP camp in the city centre on Saturday,

 

She said the programme is being organized with the support of the Kano state ministry of local government affairs, the state ministry of health and the ministry of education. Other corporate supporters are Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Kano and Complete print & media solutions. Representative of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) department are also expected to be present during the exercise.

 

Hauwa stated further that the intervention was also aimed at providing community system strengthening on basic nutrition and hygiene in the communities

“Our implementation efforts are targeted at very remote areas other humanitarian organizations have not yet reached thereby complementing their effort and achieving the objectives of BKDF which is in line with our SDG objectives to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. Our methodology is intended to create an atmosphere of inclusion, hope and love for children who are the leaders of tomorrow,” she added
