Brazil 2019 : Dutch couple prefers to play Nigeria in Round 16

As football loving Nigerians eagerly wait for the opponents of the Golden Eaglets in round 16 knockout stage of the Brazil 2019 FIFA U 17 World Cup, Melvin and Pamela Bogarde, Dutch couple says they prefer to play Nigeria at the knockout stage.

The Dutch couple are here in Gioania, Brazil to encourage their son ( Melayro Bogarde) who plays as a left full back in the Netherlands U 17 team. The couple are at the same hotel where the Golden Eaglets are staying in the city of Gioania.

But as it stands now, Netherlands may play Brazil or Nigeria depending on the outcome of the last games in Group E and F this evening. However, the Dutch couple prefers to play Nigeria instead of Brazil, as they noted that Brazil, being the host team will be too strong to handle by Netherlands, so Nigeria is the ideal opponents. 

Although, they also admitted that the Golden Eaglets will be very difficult to play.

“Netherlands waits till end of today’s games for the team to be sure of the next team to play in round 16. We can play Brazil or Nigeria, but to play Nigeria will be okay.” Pamela said as her husband nodded in agreement. 

“Definately, Brazil will be too strong for Netherlands as hosts of the tournament. We want to play Nigeria and we also know that the Africans will be very difficult, but we prefer to play them,” Melvin added
