Brazil 2019: Manu on track with screening exercise – Obuh

Francis Achi, Abuja

Former chief coach of the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, John Obuh has said that Manu Garba and the rest of the technical crew of the present under 17 team of Nigeria are on track with the on – going screening  exercise at the FIFA goal project, MKO stadium, Abuja.

He affirmed that Nigeria is blessed with millions of football talents and it is not of place for coaching crew to give opportunity to some players that did not have the privilege of getting invitations directly from the Nigeria Football Federation.

He, however cautioned that Manu must be very careful not to be deceived by some players that are flash in the pan, but lacking the vital components to give the desired results after making the team.

“Nigeria is blessed with rich population of football talent and in screening like this’ Manu might be very fortunate to discover one or two very players that can complement and compete against the ones he already has.” Obuh said.

“Manu has to open his eyes and understand to make sure that whoever he takes from this screening exercise must have all it takes to help the team to become better and stronger,” he added.

“Despite that it is seen as if the team is not strong as expected, I think what the team need is actually coaching and they have it in the technical crew led by Manu.

“So, if he can take his time and look at the players that came for this screening very well and bring one or two players no worries about because he still has a good team to keep. He is on track,” Obuh concluded
