Digital Ex. Internationals set to take over NANPF

Digital Ex. Internationals like Tijani Babaginda (MON) and Patrick Paschal(MON) are warming up to take over the leadership of National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF), reports totorinews.com.

Both Babaginda and Paschal belongs to the golden generation of Nigerian players that showcased the sublimity of Nigeria football to the world by winning the football gold medal event at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the United States.

Babaginda is vying for the position of the President of NANPF, while Pascal wants to be Financial Secretary of the Association.

Speaking to Totorinews in an exclusive chat, Babaginda said that if given the opportunity to become the President of NANPF, he will take the association to a higher level, especially in the areas of welfare and development of Nigerian players.

“My main targets regarding being the President of NANPF if given the opportunity by my fellow comrades, is to ensure that there is a great improvement in the welfare of players, whether active or retired and the overall development of their talents to reach their maximum potentials as footballers.” Babaginda said.

Paschal, his former teammate in the Dream Team 1 1996 Olympic Eagles said that every association needs competent people with integrity to run the affairs of the association and he believes that he has these qualities to manage the funds of the association as the Financial Secretary.
PATRICK PASCAL PHOTO“I offer myself to serve as the Financial Secretary of NANPF. There is a need for competent people to always be in charge of any organisation and I know that I have integrity and financially prudent in the sensitive issue of money.” Pascal said.

The elections into the executive positions of NANPF is stated for next Monday in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
