Exclusive : Beware of fake football agents, Omeruo warns

There are grave consequences if young players falls into the traps of fake football agents, Kenneth Omeruo, the Super Eagles defender has revealed to totorinews.com exclusively.

According to the Leganes of Spain rock solid defender, players nursing the ambition to ply their trade in Europe must exercise the virtue of patience if the dream must come to reality.

He informed that a lot of Nigerian players have ruined their career as a result of working with fake football agents that took them to Europe without proper documents and today they are roaming the cities of Europe doing menial jobs to survive.

“I will say young players must exercise patience. I know a lot of players when i was in Turkey that travelled with their agents without having the right documents to play football. They are also in Spain. These are Nigerian players and other African players.” Omeruo told totorinews.com

“This is very bad because when some one like me sees them, i just can’t ignore them. I don’t know anyone of them way back in Nigeria, but the fact that they are Nigerians or Africans, I am forced to have a relationship with them.

“To find out how they are doing in Europe. The most difficult Me painful thing is that most of these players don’t want to come back home. They will say there is nothing back home in Nigeria and other African countries they come from. They end up doing some jobs and at the end of the day, their football is finished.

“So, young players must have patience. They should not rush to come to Europe. It is terrible what fake football agents do to these players. Some football agents gives players contract to enslave them. If these players refused to sign , they try to ruin their career , they speak to the coaches and pay money for them to be dropped.

“All these will not help the career of the young players in Europe. My advise to them is to work hard and be level headed. Most of these young players don’t want to play in the Nigeria league, but going straight to Europe may not be possible.

“But if a player finds a club in Nigeria league, he may end up having the genuine opportunity to play in Europe while playing for a club in Nigeria league,” he said.
