Exclusive : Pinnick gives three reasons the Super Eagles will win 2019 AFCON

Francis Achi
Amaju Melvin Pinnick, the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has given three vital reasons the Super Eagles will win 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt, totorinews.com reports exclusively.
The AFCON draw was held last nite in Cairo and the Super Eagles have been pitched in a relatively easy group in the tournament. The team will trade tackles against Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea in Group B.
Firstly, the Vice President of CAF is very optimistic that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will emerge as the champions of Africa, noting that the NFF is fully determined to give the team adequate preparation to bring this dream to reality, as he stressed that the team have the ability to triumph in Egypt.

“I want the Super Eagles to win the Nations Cup and I have reasons to believe that it is very possible. NFF is focused on this task and we are preparing the Super Eagles to be the best in Africa. We will put the team in the best frame of mind and mental capacity to win the Nations Cup. The team have the ability to win.” Pinnick told totorinews.com
Secondly, Pinnick is of the firm opinion that the FIFA ranking of the Super Eagles as the number three team in Africa is not a fluke, but a reflection of what the team is capable of achieving in Egypt, where he reckoned that the team ought to qualify for the semi – finals and once a team is in that stage, anything is possible to go all the way to qualify for final and win the the trophy.
“At the moment, Nigeria is number three in Africa which puts the team in the semi – finals . So let them get to the finals and win the cup to become number one in Africa,” he said.

Thirdly, the Super Eagles parades dynamic young players capable of hurting any team in Africa and just like Cameroon was not given a chance to lift win AFCON trophy in 2017, but it happened, the same scenario could repeat itself in Egypt with Nigeria winning the trophy, despite being absent in the last two editions of the tournament.
“Nobody gave Cameroon a chance two years ago but they won the tournament. Nigeria have very young enterprising players that can defeat any team in Africa if they play to their optimal potentials and these players are eager to succeed with the national team,” he concluded.
