How new clubs can survive in the NPFL – 3SC Chairman

Rasheed Balogun, the Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club has revealed how newly promoted clubs can survive in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), reports Totorinews.com.

According to Balogun, newly promoted clubs must be ready to recruit at least five good players before the commencement of the league as he opined that the NPFL is a different ball game entirely from the Nigeria National League.

“Any club that wants to forge ahead in the NPFL should try at least sign minimum of five solid players for the first round and may be in the second round, the club can add two or three players to the squad.” Balogun said.

Having gained promotion from the NNL to the elite league in Nigeria, Balogun said that he is very optimistic that 3SC will live up to expectations in the NPFL and will not find itself again in the unfortunate situation of playing in the second tier league in Nigeria again.

“What we are looking to is the fact that 3SC have come to stay and in the NPFL we promised to remain. The club never belongs to the NNL. We got there through unfortunate conditions and we hope never to find ourselves in such conditions again,” he said.
