Kenneth Omeruo to join Eagles camp Tuesday

Kenneth Omeruo , CD Leganes of Spain central defender is expected to join the Super Eagles camp in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state on Tuesday reports www.totorinews.com.

Omeruo helped CD Leganes  to defeat  Rayo Vallecano over the weekend in their first ever Madrid derby win  when he came in as a substitute in the 29th minute after his teammate suffered a terrible injury and he could not continue.

The former Golden Eaglet defender did a yeoman’s work in the defence of CD Leganes , thwarting all the attacking forays of the attackers of Rayo Vallecano in their quest for an equaliser. It was a keenly contested affair and Omeruo and his teammates gave their all to ensure the maximum points.

It was a La Liga debut that ended in victory for Omeruo and it is hoped that the form he exhibited in the colours of CD Leganes will be reenacted in the camp of the Super Eagles as football loving Nigerians looks forward to favourable results in the double header African Nations Cup qualifiers against Libya coming up this weekend at Ibom International stadium, Uyo and the reverse fixture few days later in Sfax, Tunisia.

Super Eagles are currently  trailing behind South Africa and Libya in the group and the team cannot afford to miss out at AFCON three times consecutively. Nigeria failed to qualify for 2015 and 2017 editions of the tournaments.
