Michael Babatunde was in terrific form as his club, Wydad Casablanca of Morocco walloped visiting ASEC Mimosa of Ivory Coast 5- 2 on match day one in group c in CAF Champions League game played on Friday in Casablanca,totorinews.com reports.
The 2017 CAF Champions League winners were sublime in the encounter ,running goals riot to condemn the Ivorians to a defeat, but despite the scoreline, victory did come easy for Michael and his teammates in Wydad Casablanca, having scored the first goal from Ismail El- Hadad in the 16th minute.
ASEC Mimosa equalised in the 44th as the game ended 1-1 going into the break. The resumption of the game saw a more determined Wydad Casablanca raised their game and Nigeria International , Michael was on song in the 48th minute to give a 2-1 advantage.
The Moroccans were more on the rampage with another goal coming ten minutes later courtesy of a goal scored by Zouhair El- Moutaraji and the field was all about the enterprising Moroccan club dictating the flow in full control of the game, with Walid El- Karti scoring the fourth goal in the 69th minute.
The whitewashing continued with Badie Aouk allowing Mamadou Sylla, goalkeeper of ASEC Mimosa to pick the ball from the net the fifth time in the 80th minute, but Salif Bagote got another consolatory goal for the West African side in the 85th minute as the game ended 5-2.
