Exposed: N25m bribery scandal bane of NNL/NFF fued

It has been alleged that N25 million bribery scandal is the root cause of the crisis between some clubs in the Nigeria National League (NNL) and Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) over the number of clubs to be promoted, reports totorinews.com

According to a top source, an insider in the power play of promotion presently going on between some football administrators in the NNL and NFF, he informed that it will be very difficult for the NFF to have their way in this matter due to the shaddy deal that has transpired between some of the NNL club owners and a powerful cabal in the corridors of power in Nigeria football.

He further alleged that N25 million exchanged hands between the gladiators in the NNL and the powerful cabal in the NFF so that eight teams will be promoted to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and this money has gone round to service the intent of the NNL clubs and that is the reason it appears that the NFF is toothless bull dog in this crisis.

Seyi Akinwunmi, 1st Vice President of NFF ended in deadlock as the NNL clubs insisted on eight teams to be promoted and nothing like playoffs called NNL Super 8.

The last Super 8 scheduled to be played in Aba ended in a fiasco as only three clubs showed up for the tournament and NFF was forced to rescheduled the tournament to 2nd January, 2019, but with this latest development in Lagos, the rescheduled super 8 may be another exercise in futility as the NPFL is scheduled to begin on 13th January, 2019.
