NANPF must get it right – Tijani Babaginda

Francis Achi, Abuja

Former Nigeria International, Tijani Babaginda, who is vying to become the President of National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) has said that the players union must get it right, reports totorinews.com.

Babaginda said that there is a need for every Nigerian footballer to come together for the main cause of taking the association forward, noting that the country has produced great football personalities known all over the world and their wealth of experience is needed to take NANPF to an enviable position in Nigeria.

“We must get it right in the players union. It is very necessary for every footballer to come together for this goal. NANPF will get it right but in getting it right we must all come together.” Babaginda said.

“We have great football icons in Nigeria – players like Kanu Nwankwo, Daniel Amoakachi, Taribo West, Patrick Paschal, Garba Lawal, Edema Fuludu and the rest are capable of turning the fortunes of NANPF in a more positive dimension and I am glad that we all want to see the association succeed,” he added.

“Nigerian footballers have so many problems that we must tackle, but the first step in getting it right is to have a strong bond of unity among ourselves in NANPF. We are stronger together and we can achieve greater things in the union. This is my main aim of seeking to be elected as President of NANPF.

The elections into the executive positions in NANPF will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Sharon Ultimate Hotel, Area 3, Abuja.
