NPFL : How to end violence against Nigeria Referees – La Liga Boss

Security solution to the incessant violent attacks against Nigeria Referees in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and other leagues in Nigeria may still not be in sight judging by the summation of Javier Del Rio, the Managing Director of La Liga Nigeria, www.totorinews.com reports.

Speaking exclusively to www.totorinews.com, Del Rio said that Spain had witnessed violence against referees in La Liga in time past, but it was provinsion of adequate security gadgets that were  installed at all the stadia in Spain and other security installations at vital areas within and outside the stadia that brought to an end to the violence against Referees and other vices associated with football games.

“It is something that we tried to avoid at all the stadia in Spain. Violence against Referees happened some years ago in Spain and now we have totally eliminated the problem of insecurity at the stadia in Spain.” Del Rio said.

He added : “Security gadgets that is CCTV and other security installations were installed at all the stadia and that was how we tried to stop the violence against Referees in Spain.”

Regarding the violence at league venues in Nigeria, Del Rio informed that strict security measures must be put in order to check the lapses that creates insecurity at footballing events.

“I think they have to take stricter measurements. I think the LMC is working towards that and Nigeria will not experience such problems again. We know that just one bad person in one game can create a lot of problems in football,” he said.
