Okowa ‘ll consolidate on gains of first tenure – Oyovbaire

Ben Dunno, Warri
The former Minister of Information, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, is upbeat that the government of Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, in Delta State, will ensure that no senatorial district is left out in its developmental programmes in the governor’s second tenure.
Speaking as the Chairman of PDP Campaign Council for the 2019 general elections at an interactive session with newsmen in Warri, Prof. Oyovbaire, disclosed that at the end of Okowa’s second tenure, Deltans would have no regrets voting him again.
He described Governor Okowa as a man with foresight on how to develop the state irrespective of political or ethnic differences, adding that his disposition to equity, justice and fairness as well as his God-fearing attributes were among his greatest asset.
According to him, “Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is a man I’ve known for years. He’s a man that can be trusted. Over the years, he has proved himself trustworthy in his dealings with people even before he became the governor. Here’s a man you can rely on to be committed to his words.”
“When I got the appointment to be the chairman of the party’s campaign council, we sat down and we discussed quite a number of issues that bordered on human capital and infrastructural growth of the state, particularly on how to sustain and possibly improve on the level of peace attained so far in the state.
“He mentioned to me that there were quite a number of projects he needed to either initiate or complete in most of our communities but that the first four years were not enough for him to do so.
“He has, however, assured that when he comes back this second term, he would ensure such projects which cut across the three senatorial districts are initiated and completed for the wellbeing of the people,”  Oyovbaire stated.
On security, he said the level of peace so far recorded in the state was due to Okowa’s determination to ensure that peace does not just come to the state but also consolidate on the peace presently achieved with a visible developmental project that would translate to better living standards for the indigenes of the state.
