Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has finally signed for Napoli of Italy on a five – year deal as announced by Aurelio De Laurentiis, President of the club on Friday.
The former Golden striker put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Stadio San Paolo side.
The striking sensation has scored four goals for the Super Eagles in his 10 caps for Nigeria and he has played in Europe since 2017 when he moved to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, subsequently moving to Charleroi in Belgium, before eventually playing in French Lique 1 with Lille.
The 21-year-old Nigerian striker becomes one of the most expensive African players of all time, scored 18 goals in 38 appearances for the Ligue 1 side in the 2019-20 season, moves to Naples in a deal reported to be worth €50 million (£45m/$59m), while goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis is moving to Lille as part of the deal.
Osimhen was linked with several top European clubs due to his impressive goal scoring season, but Napoli beat other clubs to get the signature of the scoring gazelle from Nigeria.
It is hoped that he will continue with his great form in the Italian football.
