Promotion over for Delta Force after losing 2-0 to 3SC

The dream of Delta Force of Asaba to play in the top flight of Nigeria football turned to a nightmare after losing their second game in the on -going Bet9ja  NNL Super 8 on Monday, totorinews.com reports.

The team lost 2-0 to Shooting Stars Sport Club of Ibadan at Aba township stadium. Delta Force had earlier lost 3-0 to their neighbours, Bendel Insurance FC on match day one and they have recorded five goals deficit without scoring a goal in two games.

Delta Force were very dominant in the first half of the game, creating some goals scoring opportunities, which were not converted into the net as the half ended 0-0.

The second half began with 3SC coming to the game , but it was Delta Force that was denied opportunity to score from the spot. Delta force got a clean penalty denied by the CR. Poor officiating. I must admit.  3SC defender pulled back Delta Force Striker in the 18 box and the Referee looked at his assistant referee. Something that  happened right at his eyes, yet the referee looked at his assistant referee who did not raise his flag for an offence leading to a penalty.

Few minutes after denying Delta Force a glaring penalty, Ayobami Junior scored for 3SC in the 55th minute and from then the Ibadan football warlords took complete control of the game. Efforts from Delta Force to equalise proved abortive and when it appeared that the scoreline will end at 1-0, Opeoluwa Olufemi scored the second goal in the 90th minute to end the promotion ambition of Delta Force .
