Rohr doubtful over future of Mikel in Super Eagles

John Mikel Obi, the captain of the Super Eagles may have played his last match for the 2018 Russia World Cup as Gernot Rohr , Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles  has expressed uncertainty over the future of the former Chelsea of England, totorinews.com reports.

According to Rohr, the captain of the Super Eagles has not convinced him that he wants to return to the team yet and the silence of the player on this issue is a bit of worry to him, which may force him to continue working with rest of the players that have shown great enthusiasm for the Super Eagles.

“We don’t know yet when or if Obi Mikel wants to join the Eagles”, Rohr said without any further details.

The former coach of Niger Republic has submitted his plans for 2019 AFCON  to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in December  where he did a detailed program for preparations and participation in the AFCON finals this year.

Rohr demanded for a certain numbers of players to be invited for the last AFCON 2019 qualifier against Seychelles in Nigeria and the international friendly game between the Super Eagles and the  Pharaohs of Egypt to be played at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba in Delta State come March.

And from all indications, Rohr is doubtful of the commitment of Mikel Obi to the national team. Therefore, he is ready to continue to work with or without him in the Super Eagles as the case has been after the World Cup in Russia.
