Despite the Super Eagles winning their opening group game against Burundi 1-0, Gernot Rohr, the technical adviser of the Super Eagles has given two reasons the Super Eagles struggled to give a better performance, totorinews reports.

According to the Franco – German gaffer, Super Eagles played against a team what was well organised and what Burundi displayed proved that their form in the AFCON qualifiers where they never lost a game was not a fluke.

“We could not give a better performance because the game of Burundi was very well organised. We didn’t have the rythm and didn’t have chances in the first half like I said because they (Burundi) were organised”.

He also said that Super Eagles players had some health challenges before the game and this made the team to take a long time to assert their dominance in the game.

“We took a long time to come into the game. We could not bring Musa, Ighalo, Balogun and Kalu in, in the beginning. We had problems in the training. Half of the team had flu”, he said.

Nigeria will tackle Guinea in her next game on Wednesday.
