The Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has said that the standard of football displayed by the young players is very high in the on-going Dreamland football tournament in Abuja, reports totorinews.com.
The 5th Edition of the Dreamland Football Academy rebranded as Dreamland Hungary Embassy Cup Abuja 2018 had twelve teams participating in the tournament and football dignatories and fans have been a good advertisement of rich football talents in Nigeria.
“I am impressed with the quality of football being played by the young players. The standard of the tournament is high considering the fact that these players are at their developmental stage in the game. I watched a beautiful build up to a goal scored by one of the teams at the opening day of the tournament and I must admit that Nigeria will never lack football talent.” Bewarang said.
“What is needed is proper management of these young talented players so that the country can reap from the numerous talents that abound in the country and this is the reason I really want to appreciate the Hungary Embassy here in Abuja for partnering with Dreamland Football Academy and other relevant football bodies to make this tournament a reality in Abuja,” he added.
It is an Under 19 Football tournament and Bewarang , a former Nigeria International was very satisfied with the efforts of the organisers to screen out over aged players that claimed to be under 19 players , as he insisted that every football stakeholder, owners of football clubs, academies must ensure that the right things are done continually to improve the development of football in Nigeria.
“I like the fact that it is an Under 19 tournament and the organisers were able to screen out some age cheat players from the tournament . That is the way to go. We must do the right thing always as stakeholders. The owners of academies and clubs in Nigeria must do right thing always. Football is for the young people and these young talented players must be encouraged.
“Once again, i thank the Ambassador of Hungary to Nigeria,Dr. Sandor Beer, Dreamland Football Academy and the relevant football stakeholders for helping the growth of football in Nigeria,” he said.
