It is no longer news that Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser lost his Samsung 8 Android phone and other valuable documents in his wallet when hoodlums showed him the other side of football after the AITEO Cup final in Asaba, Delta State last week.
It was reliably gathered by totorinews.com that the Franco – German was very excited with the quality of the game, he was full of smiles and allowed himself to be crowded with so many fans that frolicked around him requesting to take selfies with him at the Stephen Keshi stadium, which he obliged.
Unknown to him, some hoodlums used the opportunity to become too close for comfort to his wallet and his phone, which were neatly removed from his pocket while smiling with some of the fans in selfies photos.
Although, it is a good development that Rohr successfully blocked his phone and bank account after the ugly incident, the former coach of Niger Republic may be considering shielding himself from fans with some security personnels whenever he is at a public place and may also completely ban football fans and other admirers of his in Nigeria from taking selfies with him if his security is not guaranteed.
