Financial fortunes is set to be smiling at the direction of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) as 20% of transfer fees of players has been agreed to be paid to the federation, reports totorinews.com
According to Egnr. Musa Nimrod, the President of the Federation, the owners of the club will get 50% of the transfer fees, the players would get 30% and the Federation will get 20% was the agreement reached at the congress of the NVBF held at the Package A, Abuja National stadium on Monday.
“The constitution of the federation stipulates that transfer fees will be on board. At the beginning of the season, within the first quarter, transfer fees of players will be paid and it will be shared between the clubs, players and the federation.” Nimrod said.
“The congress agreed that the owners of the club will get 50% of the transfer fees of the players. The players will get 30% and the federation that has been suffering over the years will get 20% of every transfer fee concerning the movement of players in the Nigeria Volleyball League.
“This is a big achievement for the federation and I must also inform that the federation is putting strong emphasis on the development of volleyball at the grassroot. The registration of players in the volleyball league has different categories of players to be registered.
“At the senior level, 20 players will be registered, while at the junior level in the league will have 30 players to be registered and at the cadet level will also have 30 players to be registered.
“This is to let the world know that the federation is giving a strong emphasis to the development of volleyball at the grassroot in Nigeria,” he said.
